I installed lives too……….. i installed mplayer …….. and seems like even the other programs you mention here are the ones which compiled on fedora9 without much problem …………. have you tried avidemux?
@malshan Yes, avidemux is one of my favourite too. And I use Kino/dvgrab combination for my DV camera.
